Policy Filing - Slip

What is SLIP?

SLIP is designed to collect policy data and calculate surplus lines taxes, fees and assessments based on the information entered by surplus lines licensees or their appointed representatives.

SLIP provides a mechanism for North Carolina’s surplus lines agents to electronically submit policy information, as well as providing users the ability to view previously submitted data, edit policy information and to electronically pay stamping fees.

There are two methods available to agents for submitting information in SLIP:

Manual data entries through the SLIP interface:

Agents reporting a relatively small number of policies are ideal candidates for manual entry in SLIP.

XML Batch Submission:

Multiple policy submissions are available through a batch format. This process will require IT expertise to create and submit an XML file with specific policy data.
